This allows for a smoother surface and creates a more durable piece than stoneware alone. They were then fired twice - once in a bisque fire and another in a glaze fire. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003ePieces are glazed on the inside as well + have the option to have bottoms.
